**Position Overview**
The Teacher for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing provides specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a classroom setting. This educator delivers academic content aligned with the general curriculum or an adapted curriculum based on student needs. The role requires expertise in communication methods, amplification devices, and instructional strategies tailored to DHH learners.
This position supports the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program at YSD, working with multiple age groups, with a strong emphasis on preschool and elementary students.

**Compensation Packages**
**Remote - Local**
+ **Hourly Pay Rate:** $55
+ **Weekly Pay Package:** $2,035
+ **OT Multiplier:** 1.5×
**Local - In-Person**
+ **Hourly Pay Rate:** $75
+ **Weekly Pay Package:** $2,775
+ **OT Multiplier:** 1.5×
**Travel**
+ **Hourly Pay Rate:** $45
+ **Meals Stipend:** $476/week
+ **Housing Stipend:** $770/week
+ **Weekly Pay Package:** $2,911
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate (as required by state regulations)
+ **Washington State Teaching Certificate**
+ **Deaf Education Endorsement**
+ Knowledge of sign language and amplification devices
+ Experience working with DHH students (preferred)
+ ASL proficiency exam or certification (may be required per state/district)
+ CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (as required)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years old
