Teacher- GED (PM)

TITLE: PM GED Teacher, hourly

REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Education or Designee

SUPERVISES: N/A

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To help students learn subjects to pass the GED exams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• As set by the State certification requirements for the teaching area: GED (107)
• 1-2 years of experience teaching GED
• Prior experiences working in an environment with adult learners

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instruct students on material needed in order to earn their GED.
• Teach basic skills encompassing math, science, English, and Social Studies.
• Help students prepare and study for GED exams.
• Assess students' readiness to take exam.
• Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
• Utilize various curriculum resources.
• Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
• Work with program lead to ensure initiatives are being met.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Observe and evaluate student's performance.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.

EVALUATION: Annually by the Director of Adult Education or designee

SALARY: $30/hour
