The Teacher - High School Computer Science/Cyber Security is a vital and supportive member of the PCSD team working collaboratively with educators, support staff, and administration to achieve the shared goal of ensuring all students receive the education they need to succeed both today and tomorrow. This role is performed within a school environment overseen by the school principal, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Classroom Teacher Salary Schedule: State Based Plus Local Supplement Department: School Job Code: 110000 Reports To: Principal Work Schedule: 190 days, 8 hours

Primary Function: Ability to provide instruction, assessing, and encouraging student progress. Ability to manage the learning environment, complying with state and district level regulations and policies.

• Classroom Environment • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard • Hearing and speaking to exchange information • Seeing to read a variety of materials • Sitting for extended periods of time • Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materials

Qualifications A valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned teaching field as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

• Maintain appropriate student behavior in the classroom
• Follow professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues
• Ensure adherence to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
• Integrate the use of technology and multi-media in the classroom
• Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate, and/or credential as may be required for this position
• Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner
• Participate in training programs and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning
• Review current developments, literature, and technical source information related to job responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures
• Follow federal and state laws as well as Board policies
• Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee
