Position Summary:

Unidos Academy is seeking exceptional teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach 5 sections of History, may include World History, Civics and Citizenship, or Intervention/Acceleration courses
  • Work collaboratively to align curriculum to the rigor of the MA Curriculum Frameworks
  • Use data from formative and summative assessments to inform instruction
  • Collaborate with the teachers in the History department to align instruction to LHS priorities and to participate in data inquiry around student achievement and progress
  • Participate in showcasing student work samples
  • Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve instructional practices.
  • Communicate weekly with students and families around academic and behavioral progress.
  • Meet weekly with a grade-level content team and an interdisciplinary cohort
  • Collaborate with Special Education and ESL teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
  • Act as advisor to a group of 8-15 students.

  • Will to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedback
  • Humility and a good sense of humor

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred; appropriate Massachusetts DESE licensure required-this includes a passing score on the Communication and Literacy - Skills test and a passing score on the relevant subject matter knowledge test(s).
  • Teachers should hold an SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement.
  • A minimum of two years teaching experience in a school setting serving a similar demographic preferred, but not required.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Pay Range

  • Salary in Accordance with the Lawrence Teachers' Union Contract ($61,788 - $94,614)
