Salary Range: $48,703- $100,722 per year

Employment Terms: Full-Time, 10-Month

Bargaining Unit: NEW LONDON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Position Overview: Provide engaging, hands-on instruction in manufacturing and technology/engineering, preparing high school students with the technical, engineering, and career-ready skills needed for postsecondary education, industry credentials, and careers in advanced manufacturing and skilled trades.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in manufacturing, technology, and engineering using industry-relevant tools, equipment, and design processes.
  • Prepare students for college, industry certifications, apprenticeships, and careers through project-based, real-world learning experiences.
  • Teach engineering design, manufacturing processes, technical skills, workplace safety, and problem-solving aligned with industry standards.
  • Foster creativity, innovation, collaboration, and critical thinking while maintaining a safe and organized laboratory/classroom environment.
  • Build partnerships with colleagues, businesses, and community organizations to enhance career-connected learning and student opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement 047 (Technology Education, or 098 (Trade & Industrial Occupations Comprehensive High School) with an appropriate manufacturing/technology subject area, or eligibility to obtain such certification.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, technology, and industry-standard equipment and safety practices.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, engineering, machining, automation, welding, CAD/CAM, robotics, or related technical fields.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NIMS, MSSC, FANUC, Autodesk, SolidWorks, CNC, or other manufacturing, engineering, or safety credentials.
  • Experience integrating project-based learning, STEM, and career-connected instruction.
