POSITION GOAL:
The Elementary General Music Teacher will design and deliver engaging, standards-based music instruction that fosters students' musical literacy, creativity, and appreciation for diverse musical cultures. Through developmentally appropriate lessons, the teacher will support students in singing, playing instruments, moving, and responding to music while building foundational skills in rhythm, melody, and expression. The teacher will create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and self-expression for all learners. Additionally, the teacher will assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative measures, adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and contribute to the school community through performances, interdisciplinary connections, and school-wide events. The Elementary General Music Teacher will also engage in ongoing professional learning, collaborate with colleagues, and integrate best practices to enhance student engagement and achievement in music education.
