Job Description and ResponsibilitiesTheraPeds Partners is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a part-time, on-site opportunity in Cordele, Georgia during the 2026–2027 school year. This role serves students from PreK through 12th grade and offers the chance to work closely with educators, families, and related service providers to support student achievement across academic and communication goals.

Schedule & Setting

  • Part-time assignment (20 hours per week)

  • August through May/June of the 2026–2027 school year

  • In-person services at district school sites

  • Serving students in PreK–12

Role Overview

The DHH teacher will provide specialized educational services while supporting students through assessment, instruction, and case management activities. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring IEPs, tracking progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive coordinated support throughout the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction tailored to individual student needs and communication goals.

  • Conduct assessments and use results to guide educational planning.

  • Develop, implement, and review IEP goals and accommodations.

  • Serve as case manager for assigned students, including documentation and compliance tasks.

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

  • Maintain accurate educational records and progress reports.

  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, therapists, and administrators to support student success.

  • Provide consultation and guidance to school staff regarding effective strategies for students with hearing differences.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes positive student outcomes.

Compensation

  • $55–$85+ per hour, based on experience

  • Approximately $1,100–$1,700+ per week

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Valid Georgia certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain certification
  • 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
