Job Title: Teacher of English Middle School

Reports To: Building Principal and Supervisor of Language Arts

Job Purpose: To provide instructional services in Language Arts to middle school students.

Qualifications-Required:

NJ Teacher of English Certification or NJ Elementary K-8 with Middle School Endorsement for Language Arts

Knowledge of NJ Student Learning Standards

Excellent classroom management

Ability to provide differentiated instruction

Ability to develop and follow lesson plans

Ability to speak English clearly and accurately

Ability to motivate middle school students

Ability to engage students and make their learning relevant

Excellent communication skills, written and oral

Excellent interpersonal skills

Computer literate

Ability to integrate technology in teaching strategies

Ability to pass the Criminal History Review

Ability to pass the Sexual Misconduct Child Abuse Disclosure

Ability to pass pre-employment physical exam

Qualifications-Desired:

Familiarity with Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching

NJ Teacher of English Certification

2-3 years of teaching middle school students

Experience working in teacher groups

Knowledge of PLC's

Ability to analyze student data

Duties/Responsibilities:

Creates and follows daily lesson plans

Implements best practices and strategies in classroom instruction

Implements differentiated instruction

Supports and obtains district and building goals

Creates and modifies student assessments as needed

Inputs student grades using online software on a regular basis

Communicates with students and parents/guardians

Creates and maintains a classroom environment for learning

Motivates students to accepting responsibility for their own learning

Implements assessments to measure the level of student learning

Participates actively in PLC's

Classroom

10-Month Contract

Salary range of $60,141 (BA, Step 1) to $104,512 (DOC, Step 13)
