Job Description and Responsibilities

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a collaborative school team in Williamstown, Kentucky for the 2026–2027 academic year. We welcome both full-time and part-time applicants who are committed to supporting students through individualized instruction, educational planning, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
Opportunity Overview

In This Role, You Will
- Provide specialized vision services that help students fully participate in their educational programs.
- Conduct educational evaluations and use assessment results to guide instructional planning.
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while managing assigned student caseloads.
- Adapt instructional strategies and accommodations to meet each student's learning needs and promote independence.
- Monitor student achievement, maintain required documentation, and ensure compliance with special education timelines.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, school administrators, and families to create effective support plans.
- Consult with school personnel on instructional modifications, classroom accommodations, and best practices for students with visual impairments.
- Foster an encouraging, inclusive learning environment where students can build confidence and reach their educational goals.

Compensation
- $65–$85+ per hour, based on experience
- Up to approximately $2,437–$3,187+ per week for full-time schedules (part-time earnings prorated)
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
- Certification for Teaching Exceptional Children – Visually Impaired, Grades Primary through 12.
- 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
- Experience working with visually Impaired children
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
Physical Requirements
Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
