Requirements:
• Valid North Carolina Teaching License – Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience working in a school setting
• Experience with instructional technology and assistive hearing devices
• Experience providing instruction to students with disabilities
• Knowledge of IDEA and special education practices
Responsibilities:
• Provide hearing impairment services based on student IEPs.
• Deliver direct instruction to support communication and language development.
• Utilize assistive technology and hearing devices to support learning.
• Conduct student observations, screenings, and evaluations.
• Prepare and submit required evaluation reports and documentation.
• Develop and contribute to IEP goals and present levels of performance.
• Attend IEP meetings and explain services and evaluation results.
• Implement interventions and services outlined in IEPs.
• Provide consultation and training to staff and families.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and school personnel.
• Maintain accurate service logs and student progress data.
• Attend required meetings and comply with district expectations.
