Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our staff and work in an amazing school!  Qualifications 

  • NYS Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments certification

  • Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and low‑vision tools

  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with visual impairments

  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers

 Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive tech, and compensatory skills

  • Adapt classroom materials and ensure accessible learning environments

  • Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP development

  • Support classroom staff with strategies for students with visual impairments

  • Travel between school sites as needed to serve students
