Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our staff and work in an amazing school! NYS Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments certification
Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and low‑vision tools
Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with visual impairments
Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive tech, and compensatory skills
Adapt classroom materials and ensure accessible learning environments
Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP development
Support classroom staff with strategies for students with visual impairments
Travel between school sites as needed to serve students
