Requirements / Qualifications

Brief Description of Essential Duties Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum, the District TOSA: K-12 Mathematics Instructional Coach will support the Curriculum and Instruction Department by guiding the implementation of a high-quality, standards-aligned K-12 mathematics program. The TOSA will build teacher capacity by: • providing job-embedded coaching, designing and leading professional development, and • promoting the use of evidence-based instructional strategies. The core goals are to enhance teaching practices and raise the level of student achievement in mathematics for all learners in the district. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree plus appropriate coursework to qualify for teaching credential • Appropriate CA credential authorizing the teaching of students in math or equivalent with EL authorization • Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in mathematics. Other Qualifications: • Experience teaching at multiple grade spans is highly preferred. • Strong curriculum and instruction background with a deep knowledge of K-12 math • Experience designing and facilitating professional development, training and coaching of adults • Experience with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and data-driven instruction. • Demonstrated teacher leadership ability is preferred.
