    Pre-School Teacher Title: Pre-K School Teacher Reports to: Principal Job Goal: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible members of society. Qualification: Alabama Teacher's Certificate:

    • Human Environmental Science Degree with a concentration in Early Childhood Development or Child Development.
    • Early Childhood Education degree (B.S., B.A., or M.A./M.S.) with P-3 teacher certification.
    • Special Education degree in Early Childhood with a minimum of 18 credit hours in early childhood/child development coursework, and teacher certification. Performance Responsibility:

    Determines individual and class needs.

    1. Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences.

    2. Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.

    3. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.

    4. Exhibits positive human relations skills.

    5. Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress.

    6. Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.

    7. Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.

    8. Maintains and submits records and reports.

    9. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.

    10. Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.

    11. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

    Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Salary in adherence to and compliance with the approved salary schedule. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
