Teacher's Aide

St. Joseph School in Shelbyville is hiring a teacher's aide for the 2026-2027 school year.POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Transcribing tests or other written assignments2. Proctoring tests and quizzes3. Small group and one-on-one instruction reinforcing lessons taught in the classroom by the general education teacher4. Aids in the preparation of learning and practice materials, behavior management support materials, and other items as needed5. Communicates daily with the special education coordinator regarding student progress and needs6. Assists in record keeping and data tracking as needed7. Other duties as necessary to ensure efficient functioning of the School/ Parish/ AgencyPOSITION SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSA. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR ABILITIES1. Strong organizational skills2. Good interpersonal skills3. Self-motivated and flexible4. Ability to maintain confidentiality5. Ability to communicate and work well with children in a positive manner6. Willingness to foster the Church's missionEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE1. Must be able to understand and to comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct2. Must be able to successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training3. Background screening required4. Valid driver's license required
