Position: Science Teacher
Location: La Porte High School
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teacher''s Certificate in subject area assigned - Science Composite certification required
- Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) and hold a Statement of Eligibility (SOE) to be eligible for employment
Responsibilities:
- Specific knowledge of subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- All other duties as assigned
Salary:
- $63,000 for Beginning teacher with "0" years experience (based on 2025-2026 Compensation Plan)
- $1,000 Master''s Degree addenda
- Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.

- Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking
