Position: Teacher, Spanish

Location: La Porte High School

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas Teacher''s Certificate in subject area assigned
  • Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) to be eligible for employment
  • According to the LPISD Board adopted District of Innovation (DOI) plan, candidates who are native Spanish speakers with qualified experience could be eligible to teach a course through a local teaching certification. Applicants must meet all District hiring criteria and demonstrate fluent and proficient bi-literacy skills, to include listening, speaking, reading and writing of the Spanish language.

Responsibilities:

  • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
  • Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills

Salary:

  • $63,000 for beginning teacher with "0" years experience. (Based on 2025-2026 Compensation Plan)
  • $1,000 Master''s Degree addenda
  • Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda

Pay Grade: Certified Instructional, 10 Duty Months

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
