SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

DODD MIDDLE SCHOOL

Description:

An exciting opportunity for an individual who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, high energy level, creativity and the ability to teach all levels of students. All candidates should have experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities in both inclusive and separate settings. Duties include teaching and co-teaching, as well as participation in the SRBI process, PPTs and parent conferences. It is essential that the candidates demonstrate ability to teach reading and comprehensive skills, write IEPs in accordance with state and federal mandates, case manage several special education students, and plan lessons for Paraeducators who work with specific students and groups of students. Candidates should show strong collaboration skills with support service providers.

Qualifications:

Applicant must posses Connecticut Teaching Certificate #065, #165, #265.

Salary:

In accordance with the Agreement Between Cheshire Board of Education and the Education Association of Cheshire.

Benefits:

Children of a teacher who does not reside in Cheshire may attend the Cheshire Public Schools so long as the teacher continues to teach in Cheshire and pays 50% of the published regular education tuition cost, plus any additional costs incurred by the District regarding their child.
