Primary Purpose:
Provide intensive, targeted instruction by providing explicit and systematic, research-based teaching strategies to close learning gaps for students performing multiple years below grade level. The teacher will identify foundational skills to target, determine researched-based interventions that meet the targeted weaknesses, and complete ongoing progress monitoring to measure student's growth.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of academic needs of students in assigned area
Knowledge of the SMART goal setting process and implementation
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Exceptional knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Exceptional knowledge of using data to inform instructional learning plan
Understanding of how to create aligned assessments to measure student progress toward mastery of goals
Ability to scaffold instruction to meet the individual needs of students
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with teams collaboratively toward achieving a common goal
Experience:
At least three (3) years of successful teaching is preferred.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
