The ACES Educational Center for the Arts is a part-time, inter-district, magnet high school for the fine and performing arts nestled in the heart of New Haven's Audubon Arts district. The ECA community believes in the capacity of the human spirit to create, transform, and connect. Through intensive study of music, dance, theater, writing and visual arts, ECA students learn side by side with peers and practicing artists as they discover their creative potential.
The ACES ECA Music Department is seeking a choral artist & music educator to join our faculty team and lead the school's primary vocal ensemble for the 2026-2027 school year. BM/BME is required (MM/ME/DMA in music, music education, &/or choral conducting preferred). ECA teachers serve as mentors to young artists, grades 9-12, and cultivate learning environments rich with inquiry, dialogue, creative and intellectual challenge, and artistry. Responsibilities for this position include the development of course materials, repertoire selection and preparation, leading rehearsals twice per week, supporting and assessing individual student growth, attendance at faculty meetings, and conducing evening performances.
This part-time position begins in late August 2026. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 2:40 - 4:10 pm. Additional hours allotted for rehearsals and performances. Hourly rate based on experience and education.
