    Job Description

    Salary/Position Classification

    • $13.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
    • 5-10 hours per week
    • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
    • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

    Purpose of Position

    This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

    Assist in instructing the Fundamentals of Chemistry lab. Successful applicants will be required to work closely with students.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Proctoring of evening exams for the companion lecture course 
    • Giving pre- and post-lab discussions 
    • Instructing and troubleshooting lab experiments 
    • Grade student work 
    • Use Blackboard and provide extra help in an office hour each week 

    Required Competencies

    • Excellent communication skills
    • A solid understanding of General Chemistry
    • Ability to work in a directed yet unsupervised manner
    • A conscientious work ethic

    Minimum Requirements

    • Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time
    • Completed CHEM 221 with lab or equivalent with a grade of B or better
    • Available to work on Wednesdays from 3:35-6:25 pm
    • Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better
    • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience and proficiency as a teaching assistant.
