    The Department of Psychology at Marquette University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position beginning August 2027. The area of expertise is open. The position requires teaching four courses per semester with opportunities to reduce course load by engaging in service, such as academic advising of undergraduate students. Opportunities for summer teaching are also available. To reduce the number of new preps, the courses per semester can include multiple sections of the same course (if available), and the two semesters will entail teaching similar courses. We are particularly interested in candidates with a track-record of teaching that focuses on marginalization with respect to mental health, adaptation, bias, thriving, etc. The successful candidate would teach a range of possible courses at the undergraduate level such as Psychology of Racism, Psychology of Prejudice, Psychology of Religion, Psychology of Gender Roles, and/or Death and Dying. Candidates who can contribute to teaching graduate courses in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program would be desirable. Although research is not required for this position, laboratory resources can be made available for individuals who desire to engage in scholarship.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include teaching courses that contribute to the Diversity and Inclusion content area of our undergraduate curriculum and/or our APA-accredited Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology, and advising of undergraduate students.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and high quality research.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    ABD may be considered.
