About the Role
As a Sylvan Math Teacher, you’ll use our proven programs to deliver engaging, personalized math instruction. You’ll help high school students build confidence, master challenging concepts, and achieve their academic goals — all in a fun and rewarding setting.
Key Requirement:
- Availability to commute to Lake Mary after school hours for a flexible schedule weekday afternoons and/or Saturdays.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare for and lead energetic, personalized math sessions
- Greet and connect with each student to keep them engaged and motivated
- Teach Algebra through Calculus using Sylvan’s structured programs
- Celebrate progress with praise, encouragement, and Sylvan tokens
- Track student growth and communicate successes with center staff
- Help create a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Current or retired high school math teacher, or strong undergraduate/graduate student majoring in math-related field
- Ability to teach mathematics at all high school levels
- Passion for motivating and inspiring students in grades 6–12
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Flexible, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude
- Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Education, or related field is a big plus
- Teaching certification is a plus
