Purpose
Supervision of company drivers and mechanics with a focus on safety and continuous improvement as well as oversees compliance of government requirements in relation to company transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Company driver safety training and audits
- Supervision of company drivers and mechanics; including training and performance management
- Ensures all company drivers files are maintained
- Complete performance reviews of fleet drivers and mechanics and determine areas of development of training
- Assists with special projects and operational coverage
- Oversees the compliance of Company, OSHA and DOT requirements
- Maintains the licensing of company equipment
- Model company core values
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with tanker and flatbed dispatching
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal Department of Transportation regulations
- Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and/or function within a team in a friendly professional manner
- Detail oriented for accurate completion of paperwork
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to accomplish work through others
- Ability to coordinate with other business units to include sales, manufacturing, resources accounting and truck shop in order to complete tasks and projects
- Strong self-motivation and organization skills
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Proficient at MS office products, including Excel and Word
- Must be able to work afternoon and night hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree or bachelor's degree
- Two (2) or more years of dispatch related experience
