Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Team Lead – Flatbed Assembly role in Vancouver, WA. Our client is a respected manufacturing company known for producing high-quality truck equipment and custom solutions. This position is ideal for a skilled welder and fabricator who thrives in a leadership role and enjoys mentoring team members while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and support the Flatbed Assembly team to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are achieved.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
· Perform equipment setup, layout work, and fixture placement according to project requirements.
· Assemble flatbeds according to specifications, including installation of structural components.
· Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel materials.
· Operate hand tools, power tools, drills, saws, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
· Accurately measure, align, and fit components to ensure compliance with specifications and DOT standards.
· Conduct quality inspections throughout the assembly process and address any defects or deviations.
· Train, mentor, and assist team members with assembly, fabrication, and welding best practices.
· Troubleshoot production challenges and work collaboratively to improve efficiency and workflow.
· Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper operation.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed, modifications, and production activities.
· Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment required.
· Prior flatbed assembly experience strongly preferred.
· Minimum of 1 year of aluminum MIG and TIG welding experience required.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of light- and heavy-duty truck systems.
· Familiarity with automotive and trailer wiring preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
· Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
· Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
· Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
· Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a positive "can-do" attitude.
