HireLevel is seeking a Maintenance Lead for our client in Indianapolis, IN!
Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician ready to step into a leadership role while staying hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a working lead who can guide a team, support daily maintenance operations, and ensure equipment reliability, safety, and uptime.
The ideal candidate is a strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooter who can lead by example, coordinate daily work activities, and support technicians while maintaining high standards of safety and performance.

Job Type: Full-Time (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift (A Shift – Days):
6:00 AM – 6:00 PM-Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Thursday
Shift (B Shift – Nights):
6:00 PM – 6:00 AM-Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Thursday

Compensation: $36–40 per hour

Responsibilities for Maintenance Leads:
- Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and systems
- Lead and support maintenance technicians on daily tasks and priorities
- Assist in assigning and coordinating maintenance work to ensure efficiency
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Support preventive maintenance activities and reduce equipment downtime
- Act as a point of contact for maintenance issues during assigned shift
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality standards (cGMP/HACCP where applicable)
- Communicate with production and maintenance leadership regarding equipment status
- Support training and development of maintenance team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements for Maintenance Leads:
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience required
- 80% mechanical / 20% electrical maintenance experience required
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and piping systems
- Prior lead or informal leadership experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
- Must meet background check and drug screen requirements
