- Ensure all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and inspections are followed. This includes daily safety dock audits of the shipping and receiving docks.
- Lead daily start-up meetings and communicate production priorities.
- Train, coach, and cross-train team members as needed.
- Assign daily work and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
- Ensure production lines have the required materials, supplies, and containers throughout the shift.
- Review production schedules and anticipate material needs to prevent shortages and downtime.
- Maintain accurate inventory, material identification, traceability, and documentation.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and segregation of materials.
- Monitor material usage, shortages, scrap, inventory discrepancies, and downtime.
- Maintain 5S, cleanliness, organization, and proper material presentation.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System requirements and Customer Specifications.
- Assist with problem solving, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate production, material, quality, and employee issues to the supervisor and escalate when necessary.
- Conduct effective shift handoffs and communicate outstanding issues.
- Support audits, inventory counts, and continuous improvement activities.
- Follow all Quality, Environmental, and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain acceptable attendance and work overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
