Team Lead - Saw, Machine, Weld Shop
We are currently seeking experienced candidates with machining and leadership skills for a dynamic working leadership role in the Akron area. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys guiding a team to success.

As a Team Lead, you will oversee the saw, machine shop, and weld departments, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety protocols are met. Hours: 5:30am - 4:30pm Monday Thursday, 5:30am - 2:30pm Friday (overtime)
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00/hour
Key Responsibilities:
Train and instruct team members on work instructions and proper machining procedures, ensuring quality standards are achieved
Provide daily assignments and production goals to team members
Review and distribute prints and work instructions promptly
Retrieve data and create programs to maximize machine efficiency
Follow all quality and inspection procedures
Report materials needed for daily operations
Collaborate with the Operations Director to record accurate times and quantities in the ERP system
Assist in developing and updating work instructions for your team
Lead by example through professionalism, positive attitude, accountability, and strong work ethic
Promote safety in the workplace and ensure all team members follow safety rules
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by ensuring work areas are cleaned daily
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
At least 5 years of machining experience
1+ years in a lead or supervisory role in manufacturing
Experience with mills and lathes
CAM software experience, preferably Mastercam
Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and customer specifications
Solid understanding of machining fundamentals (speeds, feeds, coolants)
Proficient in G&M code programming
Knowledge of setup and use of measuring equipment and gauges
Ability to perform setups and hold team members accountable
Strong computer skills, including ERP data entry
Excellent communication skills and ability to foster team relationships
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with safety standards and safety procedures
Additional certifications in machining or leadership
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of machining experience, including mill and lathe work
Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
CAM software proficiency (Mastercam preferred)
Other Requirements:
On-site work location
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work a first shift (5:30am - 4:30pm)
