Job Title: Team Lead
Direct Report: Operations Supervisor and/or Operations Manager
FLSA status: Full-time Non-exempt
Location: Greer, South Carolina
Job Summary:
The Team Lead is responsible for safely leading the day-to-day activities of team members and to coordinate job tasks to meet management and customer deadlines. This position requires a high-level of engagement and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
- Conduct shift start-up procedures.
- Accurately and successfully execute daily work plan, as outlined by management.
- Adherence to warehouse management processes.
- Coordinate and lead daily picking requirements.
- Monitor accuracy and organization during unloading and inspection of all inbound product and return product.
- Lead picking and labeling process for accuracy and to ensure customer orders are fulfilled.
- Daily liaison with transportation and supply chain customers and/or vendors to monitor flow of orders and to improve processes.
- Ensure and advocate full adherence to health and safety guidelines and regulated requirements.
- Conduct employee training and encourage team engagement.
- Ability to respectfully collaborate and communicate well with internal and external customers.
- Complete other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year of warehouse experience.
- One (1) year of sit-down forklift experience within the last 12 months.
- Experience motivating and leading a team in a warehouse and logistics environment is preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong willingness and positive ability to train other employees.
- Knowledge and experience of warehouse safety guidelines and required regulations.
- Ability to coordinate team tasks to meet customer and management required deadlines.
- Able to provide thoughtful problem-solving and continuous improvement ideas and solutions.
- Knowledge and operation experience of WMS (warehouse management system) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk throughout the square footage of the warehouse environment and stand and/or work on feet during the assigned shift hours.
- Ability to bend safely, lift and carry objects and/or product weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to hear power equipment alarm signals.
Environmental Considerations:
General work area is in a warehouse environment, mostly indoors with some outdoor exposure. Facility is non-temperature-controlled space.
