Salary Range: $60,000 - $68,000

Job Summary

The Housing Team Leader oversees the Housing Team that is responsible for supporting Trilogy’s scattered-site housing programs. The Team Leader will coordinate housing efforts across housing grants and directly supervise Housing Coordinators. The Housing Team Leader will assign all client referrals and engage clients in the housing search process in an efficient manner. The Housing Team Leader will manage an individual client caseload. The Housing Team Leader will support with developing and maintaining relationships with landlords and management companies. The Housing Team Leader will collaborate with different staff, teams, and representatives from the city, state, and county to secure safe and affordable housing for clients. The Team Leader will routinely interface with other employees to enhance communication, cooperation/collaboration across programs/departments, and to improve the quality and comprehensiveness of services provided. From trainings and meetings, it is expected that the Housing Team Leader share information on updated policies, practices and housing strategies widely and ensure that training material, workflows, and guides are up to date and in line with housing and grant guidelines and policies.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct housing assistance to a caseload of clients, inclusive of new referrals and clients in the lease renewal / relocation process. This can include apartment viewings, lease negotiation process and signing, etc.
  • Support staff with client caseloads and assist as needed.
  • Provide individual and group supervision to team members to problem solve, train, monitor and guide their service delivery and responsibilities including monitoring direct service hours and that team is meeting targets. Provide regular formal and informal feedback on performance.
  • Lead and facilitate team meetings to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Provide support and education to supervisees and teams regarding housing issues to help secure housing for their clients. May develop and conduct team-based and or program/organizational trainings and information sharing sessions.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and ongoing training to provide quality services.
  • Assist in administrative leadership processes which include performance reviews, disciplinary action, interviews, and hiring decisions.
  • Ensure clients are added to city and state referral lists for subsidized housing.
  • Use knowledge of Fair Housing Act, Just Housing Ordinance, and RLTO to support teams and clients with tenant advocacy.
  • Prepare and report information to leadership regarding housing barriers and challenges. Identify creative solutions and recommendations to improve client housing outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landlords and private management companies throughout the city to secure safe, affordable, and fair housing for clients.
  • Actively participates in relevant trainings, housing sessions led by internal and/or external partners to build individual and institutional knowledge of housing practices.
  • Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have one of the following:
    • GED or High School Diploma
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Supervisory/leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working in social services and/or housing administration preferred
  • Experience with housing, case management, social services with people with mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact with a diverse group of internal/external stakeholders
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License with daily access to a vehicle. Must have $100,000/$300,000 auto liability insurance.
