Summary:
Includes but not limited to the scheduling and coordinating of production personnel to meet the schedule, safety and quality requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Teach, encourage, and enforce KCC Safety Regulations.
- Make sure team members have proper training to work safely and produce quality products that meet or exceed our customers expectation.
- Inspect all finished materials/products to verify quality standards are met.
- Inspect purchase materials and equipment to find non-conforming materials and defects.
- Ensure equipment and PPE is calibrated and up to date in according to Planned Maintenance schedule.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Order materials as required to maintain work cell/station.
- Keep records of employees'' attendance and hours worked.
- Communicate updates to the schedule, safety concerns, near misses or incidents, defective equipment, to supervisor.
- Record operational or production data.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must have a working knowledge of common hand tools.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing production effectiveness
- Knowledge of leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Talking to others to convey information effectively.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
- Managing one''s own time and the time of others.
- Ability to use critical thinking to make adjustment when necessary.
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Capable of encouraging continuous improvement.
- Must be capable of using common measuring equipment and other tools necessary used by refrigeration technicians.
Safety/Physical requirements:
- Gain knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation as well as plant safety rules to perform duties safely and in compliance with all KCC rules and regulations.
- Participate in toolbox talks & monthly training.
- Take every reasonable precaution for the protection of your coworkers.
- Take immediate action to address unsafe acts or conditions and report issues to management.
- Assist in accident investigations (as needed) to identify the root cause in a timely manner.
- Complete accident and incident reports (near miss) in a timely manner.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Requires bending, stooping and standing.
- Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. (Overtime may extend time period.)
- Good visual and spatial perception.
- Follow established safety policies including, but not limited to, mobile equipment, PPE, emergency response, HAZCOM, first-aid response, etc.
