    Job Title: Team Leader

    Reports to:  Supplemental Supervisor

    Location: Bronx, NY

    Job Classification: (Full-time)

    FLSA: Non-exempt 

    Shift: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

    Salary: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour

     

    The primary mission of DBIS is to provide quality service to our individuals in a professional and caring manner. The Team Leader will develop and train the DSP for smooth operation.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Experience with I/DD population
    • Must be passionate about working with Individuals
    • Must be willing to adhere to safe health and safety standards
    • Must build community amongst Individuals and staff.
    • Must have a positive attitude.

     

    Summary of Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:

    1. Responsible for planning and Supervising the day's Hab. Program by the OPWDD/OMIG rules and regulations.
    2. Provide supervision and training to direct Professional support staff in the Day Services program.
    3. We are documenting services provided promptly using individual summary sheets and monthly and daily case notes.
    4. They ensure proper incident management, fire drills, and workers comp. Procedures are followed.
    5. Establishes and maintains open, positive lines of communication with individuals and parents.
    6. Participate in semi-annual and annual plan and ISP review meetings when required.
    7. Participate in OPWDD and provider association training when required.
    8. Any other duties as requested by the program manager Supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of the disabled individuals that Daybreak serves.

     

    Education & Experience:

           College degree or equivalent

           Capacity to supervise group work

           Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills

           Supportive, flexible disposition

     

    Additionally, we ask that Team leaders have skills in behavior management, the types of protocols appropriate in a day Habilitation setting, and a willingness to modify or learn new behavior management skills to accommodate and enhance their experience in the program.
