Position Summary
At Chick-fil-A Golf Mill, Team Leaders play an essential role in creating a restaurant where team members feel supported, guests receive exceptional service, and operational standards are consistently achieved.
The Team Leader supports restaurant leadership by helping oversee Front-of-House or Back-of-House operations during an assigned shift. This individual provides direction, coaching, accountability, and encouragement to Team Members while ensuring food safety, order accuracy, speed of service, cleanliness, hospitality, and operational excellence.
Team Leaders may be assigned responsibility for opening or closing the restaurant and must follow all established opening, closing, security, and cash-control procedures.
This position is ideal for someone who demonstrates leadership potential, works with urgency, takes ownership, communicates clearly, and wants to continue developing professionally.

Primary Responsibilities
Shift Leadership
- Assist restaurant management in overseeing Front-of-House or Back-of-House operations.
- Provide clear direction, expectations, and station assignments to Team Members.
- Lead shift transitions, pre-shift meetings, and operational communication as assigned.
- Maintain awareness of staffing, breaks, deployment, productivity, and restaurant needs throughout the shift.
- Ensure Team Members remain engaged, productive, and positioned appropriately.
- Make timely operational adjustments to support guest demand and restaurant performance.
- Maintain a sense of urgency while remaining calm, professional, and solutions-oriented.
- Open or close the restaurant when assigned and follow all required procedures.
- Communicate shift results, staffing concerns, equipment issues, guest concerns, and follow-up needs to restaurant management.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead by example and consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, humility, and respect.
- Coach Team Members in real time and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Recognize strong performance and encourage continued development.
- Help train Team Members on restaurant procedures, service standards, food preparation, safety, and hospitality.
- Support the development of Trainers and other emerging leaders.
- Maintain positive working relationships with Team Members and restaurant leadership.
- Address performance concerns promptly and respectfully.
- Communicate repeated performance concerns, attendance issues, or policy violations to management.
- Help create a positive, welcoming, and accountable workplace culture.
- Never correct, embarrass, or discipline a Team Member in front of guests or other Team Members unless immediate intervention is necessary for safety.
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives attentive, accurate, friendly, and efficient service.
- Model Chick-fil-A hospitality standards during every interaction.
- Monitor guest flow and respond quickly to service delays or concerns.
- Address guest complaints professionally and seek assistance from management when necessary.
- Follow up with guests to ensure concerns have been appropriately resolved.
- Support dining room, drive-thru, mobile ordering, catering, curbside, and other service channels as needed.
- Ensure Team Members demonstrate positive body language, professional communication, and genuine hospitality.
Food Safety and Quality
- Ensure food safety is treated as a top priority at all times.
- Confirm Team Members follow all food safety, sanitation, handwashing, glove-use, temperature, labeling, and storage procedures.
- Ensure recipes, preparation standards, ticket instructions, weights, measurements, and portioning standards are followed.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, appearance, holding times, and proper rotation.
- Ensure orders are prepared accurately and completely.
- Immediately address food safety concerns and report significant issues to management.
- Complete or verify food safety logs and operational checklists as assigned.
- Ensure allergen-related requests are handled according to established procedures.
- Prevent cross-contamination and reinforce safe food handling practices.
Speed of Service and Operational Execution
- Ensure Team Members work with urgency while maintaining accuracy, safety, and hospitality.
- Monitor restaurant speed-of-service goals and identify areas causing delays.
- Position Team Members effectively based on business volume and operational needs.
- Communicate clearly between Front-of-House and Back-of-House teams.
- Help prevent bottlenecks by anticipating guest demand and preparing the team accordingly.
- Monitor ticket times, order accuracy, product availability, and station readiness.
- Step into any position as needed to support restaurant operations.
- Ensure equipment, utensils, supplies, packaging, sauces, beverages, and ingredients are stocked and available.
Cleanliness and Facility Standards
- Ensure workstations are clean, organized, stocked, and ready for operation.
- Monitor the dining room, restrooms, kitchen, drive-thru, parking lot, sidewalks, and exterior areas.
- Ensure cleaning procedures and checklists are completed thoroughly and on time.
- Reinforce clean-as-you-go expectations throughout the shift.
- Report equipment problems, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or facility damage.
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are properly labeled, stored, and used.
- Maintain a restaurant environment that is clean, safe, welcoming, and guest-ready.
Cash Handling and Security
- Ensure cashiers follow all cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Execute proper cash-control, register, deposit, and security procedures when assigned.
- Verify register accountability and report discrepancies to management.
- Protect restaurant funds, keys, equipment, confidential information, and other assets.
- Follow opening, closing, alarm, door, and building security procedures.
- Never share register credentials, alarm codes, keys, or confidential information without authorization.
Policy Compliance
- Follow and reinforce all Chick-fil-A Golf Mill policies, procedures, standards, and expectations.
- Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared and on time for scheduled shifts.
- Follow uniform, grooming, personal-device, food safety, and conduct standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding Team Member, guest, and restaurant information.
- Report safety concerns, harassment, discrimination, theft, dishonesty, or serious policy violations to management.
- Complete required training, certifications, evaluations, and development assignments.
- Perform other restaurant responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, retail, or customer-service experience required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to work a minimum of approximately 35 hours per week when required for the role.
- Ability to work opening, closing, evening, Friday, and Saturday shifts based on restaurant needs.
- Open availability is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to close multiple shifts per week when assigned.
- Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and trustworthy.
- Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be comfortable providing direction, feedback, and accountability.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Must be willing to work in both Front-of-House and Back-of-House areas when needed.
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, or changing weather conditions when assigned to Front-of-House positions.
- Must be able to complete all required restaurant training and certifications.
Physical Requirements
Team Leaders may be required to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull throughout the shift.
- Lift and carry restaurant products, supplies, or equipment safely.
- Work near hot cooking equipment, cold storage areas, cleaning chemicals, and wet or slippery surfaces.
- Work indoors or outdoors in a range of temperatures.
- Communicate clearly in a busy restaurant environment.
- Perform repetitive restaurant tasks safely and efficiently.
