This role involves overseeing transportation design projects for various clients, including TxDOT, municipalities, counties, and toll entities. A strong background in Texas roadway design engineering is essential, along with the ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines, such as roadway drainage, structures, surveying, and others. In-depth knowledge of TxDOT Specifications and the TxDOT Roadway Design Manual is highly desirable.The candidate will lead a team of 2 to 6 professionals in a dynamic engineering environment, handling projects from various delivery methods, including conventional public bidding and design-build.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Lead a team in developing engineering documents that align with client objectives, adhere to schedules, and meet budget constraints.
Manage and develop engineering designs, encompassing geometric alignments, profiles, cross sections, construction sequencing, and traffic management details.
Generate engineering documents, including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Reports, and Variation/Exception Reports.
Collaborate with IEA's clients and team members, prepare meeting notes, invoices, and progress reports to support project development.
Conduct quality control reviews and oversee construction quantity estimates.
Assume responsibility for project review, sealing, and supervising the work of fellow engineers.
Act as a representative for the company in professional, civic, and political organizations and activities.
Pursue additional projects from existing and prospective IEA clients, including client meetings, preparation of pursuit materials, and coordination with discipline leads.

QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or its equivalent from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
Possess Texas Professional Engineering registration, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
Showcase a track record of 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in roadway design and planning, including leadership of engineering teams.
Strong experience in TxDOT transportation projects is highly preferred.
SKILLS
Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or OpenRoads is a prerequisite.
Capability to prepare contracts, scopes of services, and fee estimates in compliance with TxDOT standards and requirements.
Familiarity with ProjectWise is considered a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
