Job Overview

Lead the team that keeps surgical services moving! As a Sterile Processing leader, you’ll oversee daily operations of the Sterile Supply Processing department, guiding staff in the decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of sterile instruments and equipment that support patient care across the hospital.

In this role, you’ll ensure workflows run efficiently, standards are consistently met, and every department receives the sterile supplies they depend on. You’ll play a key role in maintaining patient safety, operational excellence, and alignment with the hospital’s mission, strategic goals, and policies.

You’ll also support staff development, ensure compliance with quality standards, and drive performance through training, accountability, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced clinical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily operations of the Sterile Processing department and assigned staff
  • Oversee decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution of sterile supplies and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality standards
  • Support staff training, competencies, and performance expectations
  • Collaborate with clinical departments to ensure timely instrument availability
  • Maintain workflow efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of leadership experience in a Sterile Processing Department
  • 2–3 years of hospital Sterile Processing experience
  • HSPA certification and/or CRCST certification preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
