ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full Time Team Lead to support the Patient Transport department at the McCandless location.

Shift Details:

  • 2pm-10:30pm or 2:30pm-11pm
  • No weekends but will work rotating holidays
  • Shifts will be discussed further during the interview

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and assist with the evaluations and training of all personnel in area of responsibility.
  • Perform all duties of Transport position as outlined in job title Transporter.
  • Report any and all problems and suggestions to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Coordinate the monthly in-services for the department with the Manager.
  • Maintain control, location, and inspection of wheelchairs and/or stretchers.
  • Assist Supervisors with monthly system wide competencies on existing staff.
  • Develop an open working relationship with unit personnel and Supervisors.
  • Ensure that the daily work of all team members is completed and ensure that they go to their assigned locations.
  • In the absence of the Shift Supervisor temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of this individual.
  • Maintain a courteous professional demeanor and communicate appropriately with patients, visitors, hospital personnel and fellow employees at all times.
  • HS Diploma/GED.
  • 2 years relevant experience required.
  • Knowledgeable about all safety, universal precaution, fire, evacuation, emergency care, and disaster policies and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of all transporter responsibilities and hospital layout.
  • Requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete transport duties and the ability to use transport equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands in high stress and emergency situations is required.
  • Ability to communicate professional with various user groups is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR within 30 days of hire
  • Act 34
