Job Description

The Clerk department requires individuals with exceptional customer service. Must be flexible as daily duties are subject to change. Office setting with constant communication via phone calls, emails and in person with dental students, faculty dentists, staff and patients of the dental school. Strong computer and organizational skills are a must.

This position works in a learning environment and supports faculty, staff and students. The school provides student education and edental care for the Kansas City community. This position provides general/ routine administrative responsibilities.

Duties include:

Scheduling

  • Schedule patients for students in a team - Each team has approximately 74 students
  • In office face to face scheduling
  • Making and receiving phone calls to schedule appointments with patients
  • Attending to emails (Axium and Outlook)from students to schedule patients

Communication/ Collaboration

  • Work with Team Leader and other faculty to maintain the team operates smoothly
  • Work with students to keep schedules maintained
  • Work with patients to keep them scheduled as needed

Reports

  • Run new patient list to schedule newly assigned
  • Run At a Glance to maintain student schedules and keep them full
  • Print and hang schedule in team so students and faculty know what cubicle they are in

Other

  • Take credit card payment for treatment rendered
  • Schedule patient at end of appointment for next visit with student
  • Maintain team patient recall lists
  • Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as up to $19.50 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
