    Description

    Position Summary

This technician role supports the R&D team in both early-stage development and ongoing lab operations. The position requires hands-on experience with capital equipment systems, pumps, and electro-mechanical assemblies, supporting prototype builds, troubleshooting, and test execution.

The role includes a balanced mix of engineering support and routine lab testing, with responsibility for executing standard test methods, maintaining equipment, and supporting product development activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Build, assemble, and troubleshoot prototype systems and capital equipment, including pumps, fluid systems, and electro-mechanical assemblies
    • Support development activities utilizing platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LabVIEW, or similar tools
    • Set up and execute engineering and routine lab tests, including data collection and documentation
    • Perform routine verification and characterization testing in support of product development and sustaining efforts
    • Assist in development and refinement of test methods, fixtures, and data acquisition systems
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fluidic system issues in both prototype and test environments
    • Maintain, calibrate, and ensure readiness of lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, pressure/flow sensors, oscilloscopes)
    • Document test results, observations, and technical findings in a clear and organized manner
    • Support sustaining engineering activities, including product improvements and investigation work
    • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support project execution and timelines
    • Ensure compliance with Client quality systems and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements

    Qualifications

    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
    • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a technical lab, prototyping, or R&D environment
    • Experience working with capital equipment systems (e.g., pumps, motors, or automated systems) preferred
    • Familiarity with electronics and instrumentation (wiring, sensors, data acquisition systems)
    • Experience with mechanical assembly, fluid systems, and troubleshooting
    • Exposure to LabVIEW, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms preferred
    • Ability to execute both routine lab testing and development-focused experimentation
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
    • Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry, documentation)

    Desired Attributes

    • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with hardware and lab equipment
    • Strong troubleshooting mindset across mechanical, electrical, and fluidic systems
    • Ability to balance structured, repeatable testing with more open-ended development work
    • Effective communication and collaboration with engineers and technicians
