The Opportunity
Tech I – Quality is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality of incoming parts and materials to ensure they meet the specified standards and requirements. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and quality of the manufacturing process by preventing defective parts from being used in production.
What you will do?
- Receive incoming parts and materials.
- Inspect parts for defects, damage, and conformity to specifications using various measuring tools and equipment.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and any non-conformances.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding any issues.
- Ensure that all received parts comply with company quality standards and customer requirements.
- Implement and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality inspections.
- Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and production teams to resolve any quality issues.
- Provide feedback and support to the production team regarding part quality and usability.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or calibration needs.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in quality control, manufacturing, or related field.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and quality management software.
- Physical fitness and strength to regularly lift 30-50 lbs.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, crouch, and reach.
- Good vision and manual dexterity.
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.
- May require travel up to 20%.
- 1-3 years of experience in related field
