Network Deployment / Implementation Engineer Data
Job Summary
The Network Deployment/Implementation Engineer is responsible for planning, configuring, deploying, testing, and supporting enterprise and service provider data network infrastructures. The role involves implementing routing, switching, security, wireless, and WAN solutions while ensuring network availability, performance, and compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD WAN, and data center network solutions.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
Perform network migrations, upgrades, and cutover activities with minimal business disruption.
Configure routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
Implement VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP, QoS, ACLs, NAT, and VPN technologies.
Conduct site surveys, readiness assessments, and network validation testing.
Monitor network performance and resolve deployment related issues.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, vendors, and customer stakeholders during implementation projects.
Create and maintain network diagrams, implementation plans, test reports, and operational documentation.
Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and change management procedures.
Provide post implementation support and knowledge transfer to operations teams.
Required Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, MPLS, and IPv4/IPv6.
Hands on experience with:
Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR)
Juniper (EX, MX, SRX)
Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent technologies
Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
Switching technologies: VLAN, STP, EtherChannel, VPC
WAN technologies: MPLS, SD WAN, VPN
Network security fundamentals and firewall implementations.
Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
Knowledge of cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable.
Basic scripting and automation using Python, Ansible, or PowerShell is an advantage.
