Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides specialized nuclear medicine imaging procedures using various radiopharmaceuticals and equipment. Performs evaluations of diagnostic images, ensuring accuracy and quality while adhering to safety regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients following prescribed safety protocols.
Operate nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging equipment as directed by physicians.
Evaluate and process diagnostic images using PACS systems to confirm proper identification and diagnostic quality.
Maintain strict radiation safety standards for patients and staff, including shielding and contamination controls.
Document radioisotope receipt, storage, use, and disposal in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Assist in preparing radioactive tracer compounds and calibrate imaging equipment regularly.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Valid NJDEP license, ARRT or NMTCB registry certification, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Ability to perform radiopharmaceutical procedures, image evaluation, and equipment calibration.
Strong understanding of radiation safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication skills suitable for patient interaction and team collaboration.
