This role connects engineering design with shop-floor execution by working closely with manufacturing engineers and production operators to observe processes, validate workflows, and create repeatable, error-proof work instructions. The goal is to reduce ambiguity, limit scrap, and support consistent production of quality parts.

Required Skills

Technical writing experience with the ability to translate complex engineering specifications into clear, step-by-step instructions.

Experience with 3D CAD or modeling software to create visual aids, callouts, and detailed diagrams for work instructions.

Strong understanding of machining and welding fixtures, including how tooling and fixturing support part stability and repeatability.

Experience working in a CNC machining and/or welding production environment.

Experience authoring formal work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, or process routings.

Ability to identify potential failure points in a manufacturing process and apply error-proofing methods.

Experience working in a cross-functional team environment with engineering and shop-floor personnel.

Familiarity with quality control checkpoints and integrating inspection steps into manufacturing processes.

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience in a senior machining or welding lead role with process improvement and technical writing experience.

What You'll Do

Develop detailed manufacturing work instructions for CNC machining and welding tasks.

Spend significant time on the production floor observing processes and validating workflows.

Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, operators, and other production personnel.
