If you’re ready to grow your career and make a lasting impact, we encourage you to join our team.

As a Technical Account Manager with AWC, you will work directly with our technology partners to develop a deep understanding of their products and solutions. You will collaborate with our sales and engineering teams, as well as directly with customers, to understand application requirements and identify opportunities to implement technology-driven improvements. This role requires leveraging agile design and development principles to create value efficiently, while ensuring projects are executed successfully—on time and within budget. The ideal candidate is innovative, resourceful, customer-focused, and technically proficient. This position is based in San Antonio, TX.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, building strong relationships and developing a deep understanding of their technical requirements and business objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely delivery of products, services, and solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling, contributing to revenue growth and market expansion
  • Drive profitable growth within an assigned territory through account development, retention, and new business prospecting
  • Conduct regular customer meetings, presentations, and technical training sessions to enhance engagement and promote product awareness
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments to proactively anticipate customer needs and provide strategic recommendations
  • Manage account activities including pipeline development, forecasting, and reporting to achieve sales targets and objectives
  • Oversee the full sales lifecycle—from order placement through delivery and installation—coordinating with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure successful execution
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers, including troubleshooting and resolution of system issues
  • Establish yourself as a trusted technical expert and go-to resource for customers and internal teams
  • Educate customers on a range of topics from foundational electrical principles and motor control to advanced SCADA systems, networking, and automation architectures
  • Support and apply a wide range of technologies including PLCs, I/O, HMI, SCADA, drives, motion control, networking, wireless communication, motor control, control panel design, and power distribution

          Skills you’ll need:

          • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
          • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical sales, account management, or related roles within the industrial controls and automation industry
          • Strong technical foundation in process automation technologies and methodologies
          • Proven ability to manage key accounts and drive business growth through relationship management and solution-based selling
          • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
          • Strategic, customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Here’s what will set you apart:

          • Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals and principles
          • Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in an engineering-related discipline
          • Experience with leading automation and control manufacturers such as Siemens, Phoenix Contact, Rittal, Rockwell, Banner, Turck, and FESTO
