Technical Account Manager


Position Summary

The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact and relationship owner for assigned customer accounts, ensuring customer requirements are effectively communicated and executed throughout the order fulfillment and project lifecycle. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and deliver on customer commitments.

 

Acting as the voice of the customer within the organization, the Account Manager is responsible for building strong, long-term customer relationships while driving successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and account growth. The role combines customer relationship management with project coordination to ensure alignment between customer expectations and operational execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship owner for assigned customer accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and consistent execution.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer business objectives, applications, requirements, and priorities.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the organization, ensuring customer needs and expectations are effectively communicated to internal teams.
  • Manage customer communications related to project status, schedules, delivery commitments, technical issues, and escalations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities between engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams to support successful customer outcomes.
  • Facilitate customer meetings, status reviews, and follow-up activities.
  • Monitor customer orders, projects, and commitments to ensure timely execution and resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate schedule changes, expedited requests, and recovery plans as required.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships, improve service levels, and support account growth.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the customer experience.

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in account management, customer program management, project management, or customer-facing roles within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, contract manufacturing, or OEM environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing customer relationships and serving as a primary customer contact.
  • Strong customer communication, relationship management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience coordinating activities across engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or field service teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand technical products, manufacturing processes, and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems such as ERP, CRM, or project management platforms.
  • Experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, industrial equipment, automation, or engineered products industries considered an asset.
  • Project management training or certification considered an asset.
