Key job responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to define and evolve the multi-year applied science and AI/ML research strategy, ensuring alignment with broader organizational transformation goals and emerging technical trends
• Synthesize technical inputs from across science and engineering teams into coherent, actionable recommendations for senior leadership on complex architectural decisions and trade-offs
• Act as a connective bridge between Alexa AI and adjacent science and engineering organizations, driving resolution of cross-cutting technical problems that require visibility and coordination across teams
• Own the organizational rhythm and execution cadence-including planning cycles, business reviews, and goal-setting processes-while ensuring decisions are clearly documented and communicated throughout the organization
• Lead strategic communications and planning initiatives, including developing organization-wide narratives, strategy documents, and leadership updates that articulate our technical vision and priorities

A day in the life

In this role, you"ll work at the intersection of strategy and execution within our Alexa AI organization. Your day might include synthesizing technical inputs from principal scientists and senior engineers into clear recommendations for leadership, facilitating design reviews that resolve ambiguous technical challenges spanning multiple teams, or preparing comprehensive briefing documents for high-stakes planning cycles. You"ll collaborate with colleagues across applied science and engineering to identify emerging opportunities in areas like large language models and personalization systems, then help translate those insights into organizational priorities. Beyond regular coordination meetings, you"ll represent our leadership in technical forums, surface risks before they escalate, and ensure decisions made in key meetings are clearly documented and acted upon.
