Description
Position Summary
The Technical Assistant provides front-line support to prospective, current, and former students regarding records, registration, transfer credit evaluations, and diploma services. The position serves as a primary point of contact for routine inquiries, explains procedures and requirements, assists students in navigating institutional processes, and refers complex issues to appropriate staff. This is a part-time hourly position.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to general student inquiries related to transcripts, registration, and academic records.
Provide information on transfer credit evaluation processes, timelines, statuses, and next steps.
Assist students with diploma pickup and other graduation-related inquiries.
Deliver customer service through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
Utilize student information systems to research and respond to questions.
Refer complex or policy-related issues to designated Registrar's Office staff.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and adhere to institutional policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Transcript evaluation knowledge preferred
Customer service or administrative experience
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn and explain institutional policies and procedures.
Experience with student information system is required; preferably Ellucian's Colleague
Ability to multi-task and work flexible hours
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling highly sensitive information.

Compensation: The hourly pay for this position is $20.

New Jersey Sick Leave: Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.)
