We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst – Payments Processing to support the analysis, design, and delivery of enterprise payment solutions with a focus on credit card and digital payment processing. This role partners with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements, optimize payment workflows, and ensure secure, compliant, and scalable payment system implementations throughout the software development lifecycle.

Job Duties

  • Gather, analyze, document, and manage business and functional requirements for credit card payment processing systems.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, process flows, data mapping documents, and other technical artifacts.
  • Analyze end-to-end payment processing workflows, including authorization, capture, settlement, refunds, tokenization, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, risk, operations, and third-party partners to design and implement payment solutions.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and regression testing by reviewing test cases, validating results, and managing defects.
  • Ensure payment solutions comply with PCI-DSS standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements workshops, sprint planning sessions, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Analyze payment transaction data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support production deployments, go-live activities, post-implementation monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Assist with documenting API specifications and integration requirements for payment gateways and processors.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst with a strong focus on credit card or digital payments processing.
  • Deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including card networks, issuers, acquirers, payment gateways, and payment processors.
  • Experience with payment authorization and settlement processes.
  • Experience with PCI-DSS compliance requirements and tokenization/encryption concepts.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and the ability to read and interpret API documentation and message schemas.
  • Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process maps, and data flow diagrams.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Azure DevOps or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D Secure (EMV 3DS), EMV chip technology, contactless payments, and digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Familiarity with payment platforms including Fiserv, FIS, ACI Worldwide, Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, or Cybersource.
  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), or other relevant business analysis or payments industry certifications.
