Assists the Elections Administrator and Voter Registration Coordinator by performing various clerical tasks required for the management of voter registration and elections. Serve as English- Spanish Bilingual Coordinator and translator for voter registration and elections. Will be crossed trained with other personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs other such related duties as may be assigned by Elections Administrator/Assistant.
Qualifications, Education, and/or experience
Requires high school graduation or equivalent, and 3 years office experience and public interaction or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Texas Drivers License, bondable, Registered Voter
Knowledge, Skills and/or ability
Knowledge of election and voter registration processes and terminology.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet development, and database software applications (Word, Excel, Access); detail oriented; ability to meet deadlines; self-motivated and able to work well under pressure; demonstrates a professional attitude and appearance. Punctual for work and meetings. Stay up to date with procedures and processes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk occasionally. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds, such as ballot boxes, election voting equipment, election supply wagons, printers, records, and reports. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Irregular, sometimes long hours in preparation of and during elections; driving is required in your personal vehicle, within the county; stress related to deadlines and regulations; weekend work is required during elections; overnight travel is required at least once per year for Annual Election Law Seminar.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoors, office environment; during elections, job may require tasks to be performed in various locations throughout the county to coordinate voting
