Job Title: Technical Designer – Casual Sleep
Location: Manhattan, NY (Onsite)
Work Model: Onsite
Compensation: $93-98k per year
 

• Working 4-5 days a week.
• Must be willing to come onsite.
• Looking for resources that have participated or owned their own fittings, can write up fit comments & pattern correction, have centric training, excel/illustrator/Flex PLM etc.

POSITION OVERVIEW
We anticipate an upcoming opportunity for an experienced Technical Designer specializing in women's intimates/apparel. This individual will partner with Design, Product Development, and vendors to ensure garments meet fit, construction, quality, and manufacturing standards from initial development through production.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit.
• Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
• Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.  
• Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.  
• Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.
• Typically reports to Technical Services Manager.  
• Typically directs Assistant or Associate Technical Designers.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience

WHAT’S NEEDED

• 7+ years experience in technical design with intimates/apparel
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, patternmaking, and apparel manufacturing.
• Experience developing technical packages and communicating directly with factories/vendors.
• Ability to identify fit issues and recommend practical construction solutions.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.
