Technical Director – Systems Architecture – DoD Modeling & Simulation Location: Huntsville, AL 35801– On-Site Clearance: Active Top Secret (required) Reports to: CEO / Ownership Compensation: 200-250K+ (depends on education, experience, skills, etc)
Position Overview
We are seeking a corporate Technical Director to lead the technical direction of our Command & Control (C2), fire control, Missile Defense and battle management portfolio. This position is responsible for setting architecture, elevating internal engineering talent, and serving as a trusted technical authority to customers. Must have hands on algorithm development expertise.
The role is focused on day-to-day technical work while emphasizing technical leadership, mentorship, and customer-facing credibility, with hands-on engagement in high-impact areas.
Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret clearance
PhD highly preferred
15+ years of experience in:
Missile defense systems
Command & Control (C2)
Fire control or battle management systems
Demonstrated experience in:
System architecture and algorithm development
Modeling & simulation environments
End-to-end system delivery (concept through fielding)
Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams
Experience interfacing directly with DoD customers and/or prime contractors
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Fellow, Chief Engineer, or equivalent senior technical leader
Experience with:
Sensor fusion, tracking, and targeting algorithms
AI/ML applications in defense systems
Planners, Battle Management, Sensor Resource Management, Fire Control
Existing relationships within the Huntsville defense community
PhD in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
