PGS Worldwide is seeking a Technical Editor and Writer in Elkridge, MD for a one year contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this onsite role, you will develop and edit technical publications for electronic systems, sensors, and radar systems. You will work within an Integrated Product Team to produce documentation that meets military specifications and standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline or related field, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in military operations and maintenance with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, or IT-based systems
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active and maintainable DoD Secret clearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to write, edit, and publish technical documentation in page-based, electronic, and structured formats (HTML, XML, SGML)
  • Experience working with military specifications and standards
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various environments
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Preferred Skills

  • Greater than 5 years of engineering writing experience
  • Willingness to obtain a higher-level clearance if required
  • Experience as a multi-disciplined or certified military instructor

What You’ll Do

  • Write, rewrite, and edit technical publications covering operation and maintenance for sensors and systems
  • Research and compile information from engineering and contractual sources
  • Develop documentation including hardware descriptions, operations, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, repair, and parts information
  • Collaborate with engineers, writers, instructors, and task leads to deliver technical publications
  • Produce materials for varying levels of detail and audiences
  • Conduct quality reviews of technical publications
  • Support Integrated Product Team activities and assigned tasks
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
